International boarding school

INTRODUCTION
International Boarding Students come to study at Nelson College from all around the world.
We have very good English speaking courses and offer you an exciting opportunity to learn in a progressive boy's school.

ESOL ACTIVITIES AND INTERNATIONAL ENGLISH programmes

Nelson College offers a full orientation programme, guidance and pastoral care. ESOL activity programmes or Specialised English Language Programmes are offered at all levels, taught by trained ESOL teachers. We offer many courses with a strong academic focus as well as arts, drama, music and cultural co-curricular activities. From 2009 International Boarding Students can study for the IELTS examination.

INTERNATIONAL BOARDING AND HOMESTAY

International Students have the choice of living in one of three boarding houses at the College or living with a New Zealand family in an International Homestay.

LOCATION AND FACILITIES

New Zealand is a unique country with magnificent scenery, friendly people and a safe environment.
Nelson is situated at the top of New Zealand's South Island and has a population of 80,000.
The region has a mild sunny climate and easy access to beautiful beaches, mountains, lakes, rivers and National Parks for recreation.
From Nelson's busy regional airport there are daily direct flights to the international airports at Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
Nelson's lively city centre is within walking distance of the College and offers all the amenities you would expect in a modern city.
